As everyone knows the Boyne Highlands race has been canceled for Saturday, March 5. We are trying to see if it is possible to host a race at Timber Ridge/Vasa Trail.

Norwegian Tore Martin Gundersen won the 50K Birkie Skate with a time of 2:00:32.8. CXC's Caitlin Compton broke the Women’s 50K Skate course record today and took first place with a winning time of 2:15:26.0.

In the 23-kilometer Kortelopet classic division, Paul Schommer, Appleton, Wisc., took top honors in 1:01:39.1; Dylan Ramstad Skoyles, from Detroit Lakes, Minn., placed second in 1:07:54.3.

The race start takes place on the old Union Pacific railroad bed. Don’t worry, the train tracks are gone and there is several feet of snow between race skis and the ground. Six start times are needed to accommodate the different waves and distances.
